OneStepNZ — INZ Medical & Character Checker
Based on INZ A4.25/A4.20 (health) and A5.5/A5.10/R2.40 (character). Always confirm with the latest manual and any officer request.
1) Application basics
Onshore: include the entire continuous stay (current stay start to proposed end date) for MEDICALS; character calculation will also include prior finished visits.
Policy default (MEDICALS): earlier finished visits are not added to this new stay. Use the override below if needed.
Use only when an officer/letter indicates they will aggregate prior visits for MEDICALS. Character (police) always considers past visits.
2) TB risk assistant
Answer both questions below. The tool computes TB risk automatically. If unsure, it errs on the safe side.
What counts as a low TB country?
See the current list in A4.25.10 of the INZ Operational Manual.
TB risk: awaiting inputs.
3) Previous medicals
4) Character & Police Certificates

Temporary 24+ months rule: add any country lived in for 5+ years (combined) since age 17.
Temporary 24+ months rule: add any country lived in for 5+ years (combined) since age 17.
Notes: Police certificates must generally be less than 6 months old at lodgement (residence). INZ obtains the NZ Police check directly — do not apply to NZ Police yourself.
